Event Rules & Regulations
1. General Guidelines
- The 2026 S&G Tech CTF is a jeopardy-style Cyber Security Competition for S&G Tech Associates and Alumni only.
- Competition Period (June 24th 12 pm ET - June 26th 5 pm ET): You will solve challenges to earn points for your team during this time! The highest scoring teams will win prizes!
- Participation Period (June 26th 6 pm ET - June 28th 11:59 pm ET): The CTF website will stay open, so you can keep solving challenges for fun! During this period you cannot earn any additional points.
- Flags will follow the standard pattern format unless explicitly stated otherwise:
- In case of ties, the team who got the most points first (chronologically) will win. The scoreboard will accurately reflect the rankings, but we will be deducting points for obvious examples of rule-breaking.
- Hints will be available for some challenges, but using them will cost you points.
- Reporting bugs: If you find any bugs in the challenges or infrastructure, please report directly to the organizers in #sgtech-ctf-2026. Additionally, any updates regarding the CTF or challenges will be announced in #sgtech-ctf-2026

2. Teams/Registering an Account
- Please only use PERSONAL DEVICES and PERSONAL EMAILS to complete challenges. You should register your CTFd account using the personal email you put on the sign-up form.
- The team captain is responsible for creating the team and inviting team members to join the team
- Each member must belong to exactly ONE team. Team may only have 1-4 participants
- Due to S&G Tech Program restrictions, alumni will be on a separate scoreboard and will not be eligible for prizes.
- If you run into any issues creating your team, please reach out in #sgtech-ctf-2026
3. Forbidden Operations
- No Infrastructure Attacks: Attacking the scoring infrastructure or any attempt to disrupt the CTF is prohibited.
- No Collaboration Outside your Team: Collaboration with outside sources or other CTF teams is forbidden. Do not share solutions. If you require technical assistance, please share your question without giving away any answers in Slack channel #sgtech-ctf-2026.
- AI Usage Strongly Discouraged: Finalists' responses will be verified for accuracy and comprehension of the solution. This is meant to be a learning experience for all participants.
- No Brute Forcing Flags: Contact organizers in #sgtech-ctf-2026 if non-standard flag format isn't accepted and you believe you are right.
- No Unauthorized Automation: Use of automated tools on web challenges is prohibited and also useless unless noted otherwise.
